A. Meaning of collaborative learning / participation
In education field collaborative learning is a technique teachers uses
to group students together to increase the effectiveness of learning.
In general the collaborative learning is a situation in which two or more people learn
or attempt to learn something together .
for examples
Collaborative activities are any
activities where learners are working co-operatively in pairs or groups. For
example: Pair or group discussions.
B. Assessment process for collaborative learning
/participation ( self and peer evaluation )
Here all the informal evaluation
method are used for assessment , like self and Peer evaluation , personality
development body language , rating scale , checklists , rubrics
.
Self and Peer evaluation :- “
Self “ evaluation means '' own evaluation
'' here the students evaluate their own learning and progress in their respective knowledge , skills, interest attitude, etc etc , Self evaluation helps the students to
develop a sense of Independence and take responsibility for their own learning.
Peer evaluation refers to evaluation of a student by another student ,
this can be conducted in pairs or in a groups , Peer evaluation promotes
cooperative learning environment in the classroom , students also get
opportunity to hear and exchange their work with others .

Step 1 :- Build trust and promote open
communication :-
Successful interpersonal communication
must exists in team , building trust is essential deal with emotional issues
that arise and handle any interpersonal problem before moving on any assignment
Step 2 :- Establish group goals
and objective :-
Effective collaborative learning
involves establishment of a group goals as well as individual accountability .
This will keep the group on the goal oriented task.
Step 3:- Must use different strategy and technique for learning :-
Teaching techniques like playway
method , group discussion , story telling , roleplay etc etc will promote
better communication and discussion.
Step 4 :- Focus on the goal and must use problem solving tricks to jump
to the conclusion :-
Sometimes
the members get deviated from their goal and they try to dominate the other
members , here we must reduce the
misconception and anxiety of other ’s member , we must approach the problem solving ,
critical thinking , rational thinking to jump to the conclusion , also we must respect each Other thoughts and opinions .
